Artesanato Miló
Stalls: 32-33
Mrs. Miló was 12 years old when she discovered Mercado do Bolhão through her mother, who was a fruiterer there. At that time, she was studying to take an accounting course, but in her free time she was always at the market giving a helping hand: at 5 am she would go to the Ferreira Borges Market to buy fruit, and, thus, help her mother. It went on like this until she was 18, the age at which she started working. But every Sunday, and whenever she was free in the morning, she kept coming to the market to help her family. Only later on did Miló give up her job and return to Bolhão to help her mother-in-law pluck chickens and skin rabbits, until she was 35 years old. Due to her husband's health issues, Miló decided to change her field of activity and opened a handicraft stall, which is still open until today. Taking to customers and learning from those who visit her, is the dream that has always driven her, Miló tells us.
