Laura Brandão is Ms. Rosinha's daughter-in-law. Her mother-in-law came to Mercado do Bolhão at a very young age to make home deliveries, and, later on, she started working at a plant stall. When the opportunity arose, Ms. Rosinha opened her own business, first with plants, but later on, with olives.
Moisés Monteiro had been helping his mother since he was a teenager, but he ended up working as an employee at another stall, which sold fresh and frozen fish, because Ms. Rosinha could do the job on her own, and only occasionally would she need some support.
Only later on, when the market was renovated and everyone had to temporarily move to the temporary market, did Laura start working full-time at her mother-in-law's stall. Laura tells us that it was there that her son was raised, and where he lived the first years of his life.
Today, with the reopening of the market and the expansion of the business, the daughter-in-law and mother-in-law remain united, working in what is now a family stall.
